Xia Dong lives with his father, mother, and grandmother.

Xia Dong's father, Xia Rong Dao, is blind and cannot provide income for the family.
 

Xia Dong's mother is mentally handicapped, and was picking up recycleable trash in order to make a little bit of money.

Xia Dong is currently enrolled in college pursuing a medical degree and a profession in the healthcare field.
