Our mission is to advance human achievement through education, healthcare, and human rights initiatives. We apply higher education to real world problems, transcending the normal boundaries of academia. Ethically and efficiently we lead by example, utilizing the resources that maximize each project's impact, while preparing students and volunteers with diverse perspectives and a multicultural experience. We also strive to incorporate financial sustainability during project design, and typically undertake pilot projects to demonstrate feasibility and performance metrics of development goals.

Our objective is to enrich and leverage the talents of motivated students and volunteers in the University of Michigan and surrounding communities toward development projects, both domestically and abroad. We are driven to enhance partnerships with local communities and interested sponsors. We implement projects in developing countries that add value to local stakeholders, promote reforms in the international development system through proven examples and pilot projects, and we undertake activities that will transfer skills and management to those local stakeholders. We coordinate multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams in order to achieve an effective skill sets for each project.
